PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH
Learning
is based on the constructive concept of learning whereby learning is a process
that takes place within learners as they search and structure new information
based on previously learned knowledge. The learning methods used throughout the
course of the studies vary according to the course in question. Some courses
essentially comprise lectures and discussions combined with short exercises.
Other courses are based on network-based learning whereby students search for
answers to the practical problems introduced in the objectives set for the
course. This is complemented with exercises dealing with planning given during
lectures and a portfolio, which summarises the issues learned during the course.
When devising a business plan for a rural enterprise, the basic elements of
project learning and problem-based learning are utilised.
