Learning facilities and premises
All of the
schools associated with the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences offer
students the opportunity to study in a modern environment as regards technology
and equipment. Our facilities provide students with the tools and space they
need for active, diverse learning. Students may also participate in research and
development projects and utilise the schools' extensive international networks
for studying abroad.
IT services
The computers at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences connected to the
network of the Seinäjoki Joint Municipal Authority for Education, which belongs
to the national FUNET network (Finnish University and Research Network).
Students are therefore obligated to abide by the user regulations in all three
organisations. Upon acceptance of the regulations, students receive an e-mail
address and a username for the network. Students need the user name every time
they log into a Seinäjoki UAS computer, and it is valid in all of the schools.
The username and pin-code are personal and should not be used by anyone else. To
be able to uphold good practices for using the computers, students should
understand their responsibility and take into consideration their fellow
students.
Students should also heed to the issues associated with data security for the
good of everyone. Everyone who uses the Seinäjoki Joint Municipal Authority for
Education IT system are to abide by its regulations and other guidelines and
rules for using the system, as well as the rules of good practice and Finnish
law. The Data system operating rules and Data Security Policy are available at
http://www.epedu.fi/kayttosaannot. Not abiding by the
regulations may result in deactivation of one's user name temporarily.
Students may use their personal e-mail address and username throughout their
studies providing that they abide by the regulations for use. The contents of
e-mails and home directory are kept at least one month after a student
graduates; after that they are deleted. The username will remain activated for
14 days, after which it will be deactivated. The same is true in a situation
where a student registers as "not attending".
Students can use their user ID to log into the WinhaWille service where they can
check their personal information and change their address details if necessary.
They can also check their Personal Study Plan and grades and take care of the
compulsory registration as an attending student. WinhaWille enables students to
register for courses and exams also. The address for logging into WinhaWille is
http://winha.seamk.fi.
