Seinäjoki
Seinäjoki has a diverse range of recreational activities for every season. There
are 60 sports associations in the city that offer something for everyone. There
are several sports halls and gyms, as well as an artificial ice rink and
swimming pool. There are several fitness and nature trails with lean-tos in the
immediate vicinity of the city.
The city
is well-known for the various events held there, for example Provinssirock, for
friends of rock music, which takes place on Törnävänsaari in June. The Seinäjoki
Tango Festival gathers friends together for an upbeat dance and music event in
July. The theatre in Seinäjoki is also an extremely popular entertainment venue.

Ilmajoki
There is a total of 75 places in the municipality of Ilmajoki, where residents
can do sports and other types of fitness and recreation. These include outdoor
sports fields, indoor fitness premises, swimming pools, outdoor fitness areas
and special sports institutions. The Ilmajoki sports hall has a large gym, a
fitness hall, training areas for wrestlers and a separate place for more
small-scale type of exercise.
Ilmajoki
is known for its music festivals and lively cultural life. Sights include the
Yli-Laurosela homestead museum, the Ilkka statue, genuine peasant homesteads and

Ähtäri
Ähtäri has excellent opportunities for hobbies in nature, culture and sports.
The municipality is home to the Ähtäri hall with all its various activities, the
Mesikämmen spa, gyms, sports field, golf course, and the Mustikkavuori sports
centre, which also has an ice rink. The forests and numerous waterways in Ähtäri
provide an excellent setting for various types of nature trails and
approximately 180 km of skiing trails in winter. Ähtäri is a famous travel

Kauhajoki
The recreational services office in Kauhajoki organises many different types of
leisure-time activities. Sports activities are concentrated around the Virkku
swimming and sports hall and the outdoor fitness areas in its vicinity, as well
as the youth centre. The nature in Kauhajoki is an attraction in itself. The two
national parks and the landscape in Hyypänjokilaakso valley stop travellers in
their steps to admire the diversity of nature. The many museums in the town and
the renovated historical buildings take visitors back in time. For more

Kauhava
Kauhava is a city for sports enthusiasts; there are excellent, functional places
for fitness and other types of sport. The places are concentrated around the
sports park and the school centre next to it. The sports park has an ice rink
and sports field complete with different locations to do different types of
sports. The sports park also has an area for ball games and a court for beach
volleyball. Kauhava is also a town of museums and culture with theatre and

Kurikka/Jurva
The pure and varied landscape of Jurva offers a variety of things to do
outdoors. In addition to the sports facilities (gym and weights room) at the
School of Culture and Design, the city of Kurikka offers and abundance of
recreational opportunities, such as track and field, Finnish baseball, football,
ice hockey, tennis, a sports hall and a lit cross-country ski trail and
snowmobile trails. Jurva is known around the world for its furniture business
and in the nearby areas for it amateur theatre activities. The Jurvan
Harrastajanäyttelijät (amateur theatre group) even has its own Teatteri as a
