Learning Outcomes

Students implement practical care and nursing to meet basic needs of aged people. They justify their action based on their gerontological knowledge foundation and they understand how changes brought on by old age affect the care and nursing process. Students know how to use rehabilitative and sociocultural methods to support and promote the health, wellbeing and function of aged people/family care-givers. In collaboration with aged people, their families and multi-professional teams, students are able to plan, implement and evaluate care, nursing and rehabilitation of people with common geriatric illnesses. Students implement pharmacological care as members of multi-professional teams. They contribute to end-of-life care as members of multi-professional teams in care and nursing settings.
