Learning Outcomes

WORKING COMMUNITY COMPETENCE

Students will learn to apply quality management methods to public health nursing and assume responsibility for monitoring and arguing for the effectiveness of their own work. They will also become aware of their economic accountability. Students will learn to work as experts of public health nursing and as coordinators of multi-professional groups, teams and networks. Students will learn how to work in networks with various stakeholders to promote health and wellbeing. They will learn to maintain and develop the function of their work communities. Students will develop their professional competence and know the meaning of work supervision to their own professional growth and development. In their work, students will observe the Registered Public Health Nurse's rights and duties.

Contents

Developing the quality of one's work in public health nursing. Cost-accounting. Introduction to effectiveness research reports. Employee skills, self-management. Methods and challenges in management and leadership / in the coordination of public health nursing. Multi-professional collaboration and networks. Well-functioning work community. Human resources reports in health services. Supervision and appraisal intervies in public health nursing. Collective bargaining agreement.
