Learning Outcomes

Students will gain relevant knowledge of the social welfare and health care system of one municipality. Students will learn to explain how municipal health and social services are provided and they will be aware of the current challenges. They will compare the solutions in service provision from various points of view.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

A report, completed either independently or in pairs, and seminar pertaining to the municipal social welfare and health-care service system.

Assessment Criteria

Level 1
Students still have a narrow understanding of the municipal provision of health and social services. Students are able to prepare and present an analysis of these services, but they do not yet present or compare other solutions. They present little material to support their report and presentation.

Level 2
In their analysis, students present relevant knowledge of the health and social service delivery system. Students are relatively well able to analyse the provision of municipal services and to discuss new solutions. Students have collected some material to support their report and presentation.

Level 3:
Students understand the municipal system of providing health and social services and the importance of collaboration. They are able to evaluate current practices and to suggest innovative solutions to develop the service delivery system. They have collected plenty of material to support their report and presentation.
