Learning Outcomes

Students are able to implement the official vaccination programme and to work as experts in the immunisation of people of all ages. Students are able to prevent and treat prevailing communicable diseases in Finland in collaboration with other health professionals and authorities. Students know how to keep up-to-date regarding communicable diseases at national and internatiol level and are able to work according to the guidelines provided. Students will learn to counsel and vaccinate travellers.

Contents

Basics of immunisations. Vaccinations for children and school-age children. Vaccinations for adults and special-needs groups. Vaccinations and health counselling for travellers and the international vaccination card. Vaccinations for the elderly. Monitoring the situation regarding communicable diseases. Prevention of communicable diseases in public health nursing of people of all ages.
