Learning Outcomes

Student is familiar with the main types of management theories and some of their present versions. Student is aware of and is able to develop personal style for management and leadership.

Student is able to scrutiny different areas of management, such as strategic and human resource management and is competent to use various means for management and development of it.

Contents

Scientific management, human relations school, managerialism and other theories of management. Multiprofessional organisations and managing change. The role and impact of manager in development activities.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1-2
Student is familiar with and is able to describe different management theories and contexts for management.

Grade 3-4
Student is able to compare the different types of management and leaderhisp and assess in practise the types that are used in various organisations.

Grade 5
Student is able to critically analyse the different types of management and leadership styles and reflect them in relation to own action and the one of otehrs'.

Assessment Methods

Grading is based on a student assignments, the scale of 1-5.

Work Placement

Study module contains not practical training.
