Learning Outcomes

Students are able to explain the key concepts of bioenergy branch and heating entrepreneurship, and their possibilities in relation to risks. Students are especially able to analyze the utilization and commercial possibilities of biogas, field and forest energy.

Assessment Criteria

Level 1. Students will be able to explain the key concepts of bioenergy and heating entrepreneurship. They will be able to explain, how different forms of bioenergy can be adopted and what kind of burning and production technologies are exploitable. Students will also be able to make a business plan according to instructions.

Level 3. They will be able to analyze how to exploit different forms of bioenergy and to use different burning and production technologies. They will be able to use profitability and investment calculations, and analyze risks in their business plans.

Level 5. Students will be able to explain the key concepts of bioenergy and heating entrepreneurship with practical examples. They will be able to analyze possibilities to utilize different forms of bioenergy as well as burning and production technologies. Students are able to write realizable business plan where profitability, commercial possibilities and risks are all-round analyzed.

Assessment Methods

Exam (T1-K5). Business Plan and other assignments should be acceptable. Active participation.
