Learning Outcomes

Students will be competent in making finite element models for bar structures. They will be capable of solving displacements and internal forces of a bar structure by the finite element method.

• Degrees of freedom
• Stiffness matrix and load vectors
• Nodal forces
• Equilibrium equations of nodal forces
• Internal forces of elements
