Learning Outcomes

Students will explore management and the role of the manager/first-line manager in elderly care service organizations. They will know how to apply theoretical knowledge in the management of elderly care. They will learn to analyse their personal competence and potential for profit responsibility-based work in the management and development of quality in elderly care.

Basic and professional studies and theoretical studies on management and quality management.

Contents

- Practical training in the service delivery system for elderly care, where students learn about management, finances and quality management and evaluation. Development task pertaining to quality together with the personnel in the work community

(7 cr of the contents is for research and development)

Assessment Criteria

Level 1 (grade 1-2)
Students still have a narrow overview of management in elderly care. They are able to present some theoretical knowledge in discussion, but their application to practice is still lacking. Students are reserved in their interaction with staff and clients. They present little original reflection and need a great deal of supervision.

Level 2 (grade 3-4)
Students have good command over important areas of elderly care management, which they discuss in their written assignments. Students actively and critically present theoretical knowledge in the practical training placement. They identify and bring to notice development challenges in their own activities and in those of the organization. Students act in a coherent and logical manner. They are able to evaluate their professional growth.

Level 3 (grade 5)
Students have excellent command over various areas of elderly care management. They are constructively critical. They know how evaluate, apply and develop elderly care management and quality management. Students act in a coherent and responsible manner. They reflect on their professional growth profoundly.

Self-evaluation, feedback from the clinical supervisor and lecturer's assessment of the assignments. Numerical assessment.
