Learning Outcomes

Students will gain relevant knowledge of the social welfare and health care system of one municipality. Students will learn to explain how municipal health and social services are provided and they will be aware of the current challenges. They will compare the solutions in service provision from various points of view.

- Structure of personnel in the social welfare and health care sector
- Needs for development

A report, completed either independently or in pairs, and seminar pertaining to the municipal social welfare and health-care service system.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 3
Students understand the role of health and social service provision system and various collaborative actors in the provision of municipal services. They evaluate and propose improvements.e.g. innovative practices and solutions to develop the service provision system. Students collect plenty of material for their report and presentation.

Grade 3
Students' presentation contains relevant knowledge of the health and social service provision system. Students competently examine current municipal service provision and propose improvements. They collect material to support their report and presentation.

Grade 1
Students have a narrow understanding of the municipal health and social service provision system. They know how to present their analysis, but do not know how to produce or compare alternative solutions. Students present little extra material in their report and presentation.
