Learning Outcomes

Based on their study of literature, students will be able to name factors that affect young people's functional capacity, social engagement and risks of exclusion.

Major part of the first year studies of the degree programme in social work. Students, who have completed their sector studies cannot choose literature from their own sector.

Literature on young people's social engagement and risks of exclusion.

Recommended or Required Reading

Students take an examination based on two items selected by the lecturer and on one item selected by the student.

Independent study of literature.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1-2:
Based on their study of literature, students are able to name factors that affect young people's functional capacity, social engagement and risks of exclusion.
Grade 3-4:
Based on their study of literature, students are able to explain factors that affect young people's functional capacity, social engagement and risks of exclusion.
Grade 5:
Based on their study of literature, students are able to extensively analyse factors that affect young people's functional capacity, social engagement and risks of exclusion. Students are able to explain what links exist between social engagement and exlusion and their causes and consequences at the levels of the individual, community and society.

Further Information

The course is intended for those students of the Degree Programme, who have already completed or will complete their sector studies during the academic year 2014-2015. (Students cannot choose literature from their own sector.) Choose one of the exam dates.
