Learning Outcomes

ETHICAL COMPETENCE

Students will be competent in working in an ethical manner and behave appropropriately in interaction with people from different ethnic backgrounds. They will treat their colleagues fairly and with respect.

COMPETENCE IN HEALTH PROMOTION

Students will be competent in promoting health as experts in nursing.

CLINICAL COMPETENCE AND INNOVATION COMPETENCE

Students will be competent in working according to evidence-based nursing principles. They will also be competent in critically evaluating nursing and developing quality in the profession. Students will know how to plan, implement and evaluate a patient's care together with the patient and his/her family members, and with multi-professional teams. They will have command of the nursing interventions commonly used and know how to carry them out safely and economically. Students will also have a comprehensive understanding of drug care. They will be able to work in different nursing situations prioritising their actions in constantly changing situations. Students will be competent in working as co-ordinators of care and in counseling patients and their family members in the various stages of care. Students will be competent to document nursing according to data protection and safety rules and to transfer patient records with the patient's permission.

- develop their action critically and apply profession-specific ethical principles and evidence-based knowledge even in complicated and ad hoc situations
- are competent to manage the overall situation and to take appropriate action
- collaborate and take others into consideration in a flexible manner
- evaluate health promotion with help of evidence-based knowledge and take patients' and their families' resources into consideration
- assess individual needs for care and support the coping of patients and their families
