Learning Outcomes

Students will learn to name factors that affect the individual's functional capacity and social engagement, with special reference to disability. Students will know where to seek information of issues pertaining to disability.

The course is intended for those students of the Degree Programme, who have already completed or will complete their sector studies during the academic year 2014-2015. (Students cannot choose literature from their own sector.) Choose one of the exam dates.

Contents

- Examination of the individual-society relationship from the perspective of functional capacity and social engagement
- Deviations from the norm
- Intellectual disability, sensory disability, sports injuries, communicative disorders
- Effects of disability throughout the life span
- Ethical perspective on work with disabled clients

Students are able to name factors that affect the individual's functional capacity and social engagement, with special reference to disability. Students know where to seek information of issues pertaining to disability.
Grade 3-4:
Students can explain factors that affect the individual's functional capacity and social engagement, with special reference to disability.
Grade 5:
Students can extensively analyse factors that affect the individual's functional capacity and social engagement, with special reference to disability.
