Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be competent in:
• creating a product collection for a chosen lifestyle group.
• gathering consumer information and analysing and applying it to their own designing work.
• interpreting the latest trends in their own designing work.
• making a project plan and final evaluation of it.
• presenting their own ideas visually.
• working on teams.
• choosing an efficient and appropriate way of producing a product.

Contents

• Conceptualization (defining user groups, methods of gathering consumer information, the aspect of experience, designing based on need, collection-oriented thinking, presentation technology, functionality, usability)
• Emotional designing
• Creating an appearance for a collection that visually and substantively coherent
• Working on designing teams
• Production designing
• Working with prototypes and making sales products or having them made
• Pricing

Further Information

The sales ranges will be introduced at the consumers’ trade fair. The planning of the trade fair is integrated into the project.
