Learning Outcomes

Students will understand the development phases of the more common field crops, cultivation techniques, and the factors that affect the quantity and quality of harvests. Students will know how to use machinery needed to harvest and process field crops. They will be competent in compiling a cultivation scheme and in making quality analyses. They will also be aware of the significance of the factors associated with quality.

- Principles of the yield of cereal harvests and stages of cereal development
- Cultivation techniques for field crops: cereals, rape seed, peas, grass
- Common quality analyses for cereals
- Making a cultivation scheme on computer

Assessment Criteria

Level 1: The student knows the main arable crops in the development stages, cultivation techniques, crop quality and quantity factors. He is aware of the machines of arable crop harvesting and processing. He knows the principles of cropping plan and the most important quality analyzes.
Level 3: Students are able to compare the main arable crops in the developing stages, farming techniques and crop quality and quantity factors. He knows the machinery using the main arable crop harvesting and processing. He can do the cropping plan and the most important quality analyzes.
Level 5: The student is able to evaluate the major arable crop development stages and farming techniques affect crop quality and quantity. They are able to choose the most appropriate crop harvesting and processing of the necessary machining. He is able to make the cropping plan independently, as well as plan for the most important quality analyzes.
