Learning Outcomes

- can handle demanding oral and written situations in Swedish
- understands the differences in Swedish and Finnish business communication and culture and can communicate using this knowledge in his communication style
- can use professional Swedish in correct styles in different professional situations
- is able to write demanding professional texts, e.g. reports, PM, minutes, advertisements, brochures
- knows the various styles of professional writing and professional oral communication and can use styles correctly in different professional contexts

Contents

- Professional documents according to students’ study field: meeting documents, PM, reports, brochures, manuals, invoicing, waybills, bookkeeping documents, contracts and so on.
- Negotiations, meetings, selling situations, guiding, small talk, professional oral situations according to students’s study field

Assessment Criteria

5: Students have an excellent command of grammatical structures and professional vocabulary. They are active and can interact independently and fluently in written and oral field –related situations. Pronunciation close to native speaker.

3 :Students have a satisfactory command of grammatical structures and professional vocabulary.
They manage fairly well in most common predictable field-related situations. Understandable pronunciation.

1: Students use simple structures and limited vocabulary but mistakes disturb understanding. They understand slow and clear speech and quite easy field-related texts. They manage predictable working life situations when assisted. Pronunciation influenced by other languages.

Active participation in contact lessons. Written assignments, self and/or peer evaluation.
