Learning Outcomes

Having completed the course, the student knows the basic vocabulary of Spanish business communication and understands business-related texts using tools. The student is familiar with the charateristics of doing business with Spanish companies and has got to know Spain and the Spanish culture by visiting Spain.

Contents

Familiarization with the basic vocabulary of Spanish business communication and business-related texts, as well as the characteristics of Spain, doing business with Spanish companies, and the Spanish culture. The course includes a study trip as well as visits to companies and/or organizations doing business with Spain.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In the business communication part, contact classes followed by a written exam. In the cultural part, attendance at specialist lectures and company and organization visits, as well as passing the written assignments required. Participation in the study trip and in its programme in all aspects. In case the student is unable to participate in the study trip, a compensatory way of completing this part is agreed on with the teacher in charge. The languages of instruction are English, Finnish and (partly) Spanish; yet, the Finnish parts are offered in English to international students.

The course is evaluated on the scale of 1 - 5; the assessment criteria will be detailed at the beginning of the course
