Learning Outcomes

The purpose of this module is to expand on the goals and contents associated with the Patronship, the Media and the Library course. Upon completion of this course, students will be competent in analysing the various sub-areas of information literacy and plan related supervision and teaching opportunities for people of different ages. They will identify the ways in which children and youth utilise media and apply their knowledge to educational situations. Students will be capable of adapting media education material and teaching to meet the needs of special groups.

Contents

Sub-areas of information literacy regarding learning and instruction, Resources needed to work as an instructor, Planning, carrying out and assessing instruction and lessons. Children and youth as users of various media and producers of various media contents. Planning media education material and lessons intended for special groups.

The material to be used in the courses will be discussed in more detail during the courses.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, written assignments, practical exercises, projects together with representatives of the working life.

Grading will be announced during the courses.

Assessment Methods

The assessment of the courses of the module is based on the written assignments and active participations in the planning and completion of the practical exercises. The assessment of individual parts of the course will be discussed in more detail at the beginning of the course.
