Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to define the components and connections of power electronics and verify the topologies associated with switch mode power supplies. Students will also be able to explain the principles behind motor drives in power electronics and battery technology. They will be competent in calculating heat design in power electronics. Additionally, students will be able to interpret EMC and electric safety regulations.

Contents

Teaching involves the use of guidebooks and brochures for power electronics components and component manufacturers from which students write summaries, do exercises and make calculations. Students will learn about the structure of power electronic devices and make measurements and trial connections.
