Learning Outcomes

During this course, students will design a piece of furniture or a range of furniture to be industrially produced for the needs of a virtual or real company. The outcome of the project will be a piece of furniture, range of furniture, fixed piece of furniture or other interior cladding element needed in the everyday life of the target consumer group.
Upon completion of the course, students will
- understand the concept of industrial manufacturing and consider it in their work.
- understand the industrial production process and industrial product development.
- be sensitive to the ways of life of various consumer groups.
- be competent in applying computer-aided and manual visualisation.
- be knowledgeable of the various ways to produce a product and be capable of making an end product according to set objectives.

Assessment Criteria

Grading is based on a scale of 1 to 5. The product(s) and associated designing documents are evaluated according to the objectives of the project. Process evaluation requires attendance and participation in mid-term and final progress discussions.
