Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to use control circuits and PID-control method. Students are able to build the process monitoring and data acquisition system based on PC and know how to apply the theory of regulation to control systems.

Student's Workload

Will be announced at the beginning of the course.

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

No previous studies are required.

Contents

Principles of control system engineering, structure and types of control circuits, control circuit tuning methods, control circuits realized with monitoring and data acquisition system, simulation of controls and processes with monitoring and data acquisition system.

Recommended or Required Reading

Lectures and exercises

Assessment Criteria

1: Student can build a partly functioning controller.
3: Student can build a controller, understand its functions, tune it following example and connect it to control a process.
5: Student can also tune the controller independent, add extra functions and optimize the process control.
