Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course the student knows what the Finnish children's librarian does today and has done earlier. S/he is able to tell about the future of children's and youth library work. The student is able to choose suitable activities in children's and youth department in the public library. Students will also be competent in selecting appropriate material for various situations, e.g. for book recommendations and story hours for children. S/he is able to adopt activities which participate children and youth in planning and executing library services to themselves.
