Learning Outcomes

Students will be competent in explaining the growth, struture and properties of wood as well as damages suffered by wood from the point of view of conservator. Students can analyze wood spieces. Students will also be competent in naming the building products made of wood.

Timber in the history of building. Domestic wood types used in buildings and furnishings, macro-structure of wood and identifying types of wood. Growth, use and properties of wood
Decay processes of wood (pests and types of decay)
