WORKING COMMUNITY COMPETENCE

Students are able describe the historical development of public health nurses' work in Finland. Students are competent in building their work on the principles of public health nursing. Students are able to explain the PHN's responsibilities in various environments. Students know the profession-specific competence and quality requirements, principles and contexts.

Concepts in the public health nurse's work. Development of the public health nurse's work from the beginning of 20th to the 21st century. Public health nurse's sphere of practice and area of responsibility. Principles in their work. Public health nurses' professional competence.
