Students will be aware of the significance of the basic studies in medicine, as required in the Degree Programme, in constructing the professional skills of an elderly care professional. They will acquire basic knowledge of the structure and functions of the human body and of common medical-surgical diseases and understand the significance of microbes to the health of human beings. They will be able to utilize the knowledge later in their work, in the planning, implementation and development of services for the elderly population.
