Learning Outcomes

Students will learn to use the equipment, software, online services and the online learning environment of Seinäjoki UAS. They will know how to use e-mail, the Winha student administration programme, Word, Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint Graphics. They will learn to use the Moodle learning environment. They will also gain basic knowledge of copyright and information security issues and their meaning in ICT. Students will learn to apply their basic information technology skills to new equipment and software environments and they will be prepared to develop their skill further later on in their professional field.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1-2:
Studens are aware of how common IT tools can be used. They have basic skills in the use of these tools.
Grade 3-4:
Students are aware of how IT tools can be used. Students understand the operating principles and applications of these tools for personal use.
-Under supervision, students are able to apply their skill to various situations
-Students have basic knowledge of copyright issues
Grade 5:
Students are aware of how IT tools can be used, understand the operating principles of these tools and are able to independently and innovatily apply their skills to various situations.
-Students have basic knowledge of copyright issues and they are aware of threats to information security.

Assessment Methods

The assessment will be based on the following: Participation in classroom and online activities, exams. Online learning 50%.

Work Placement

This course does not involve a practical training period.
