Learning Outcomes

Students know how to analyse their needs for information from various perspectives. They are able to name concepts related to their topic (in Finnish and in English) and analyse them hierarchically. Students select appropriate professional and scientific sources of information. They know how to use national and international social field databases and online services offered by SeUAS library. Students are able to follow current information of social work and to make use of online services. Students are able to critically interpret and evaluate the information and develop their information seeking skills.
Students are able to write relatively extensive texts which meet the criteria set for scientific writing. In communication, they assume responsibility for their action, observing agreements and ethical principles. In referencing, they apply the SeUAS instructions for written assignments.Students have the skills and knowledge required in writing a maturity test.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5:
Students are able to analyse their needs of information and choose appropriate sources of information and give reasons to them. Students are able to use in multiple ways and critically databases of SeUAS and other professional sources of information. Students are able to fluently interpret the information she/he has found, evaluate it critically and develope her/his skills of information research. Students produce scientific texts, which have goal, meaning, structure, language, stile and form that reahes the requirements of scientific text. Students are able to applySeUAS instructions of written documents independently and fluently.

Grade 3.
Students are able to analyse their needs of information and choose appropriate sources of information. Students are able to use in multiple ways the databases of SeUAS and other professional sources of information. Students are able to interpret the information she/he has found, evaluate it and develope her/his skills of information research. Students produce scientific texts, which in most parts have goal, meaning, structure, language, stile and form that reahes the requirements of scientific text. Students are able to applySeUAS instructions of written documents.

Grade 1:
Students are able to analyse their needs of information and choose appropriate sources of information. Students are able to use the databases of SeUAS and other professional sources of information. Students are able to organize the information she/he has found, evaluate it under supervision. Students produce scientific texts, whic have weeknesses in written presentation and source references.
