Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to analyse the historical development of Finnish society and social policy and learn to identify causal relationships and mechanisms, which create or have created social problems. Students will be competent in analysing factors that have affected the development of society and social policy. Their economic literacy will be improved as they gain command of the more significant concepts in social policy and national economy. Students will also learn to evaluate causes and consequences in national economy and to explore economic phenomena in social policy.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1-2:
Students are able to describe the historical development of Finnish society and social policy and to identify causal relationships and mechanisms, which create or have created social problems. Students are abel to name the more significant concepts in social policy and national economy.
Grade 3-4:
Students are able to explore and explain factors that affect the development of society and social policy. Students know how to evaluate causes and consequences in national economy and economic phenomena in social policy
Grade 5:
Stduents are able to critically analyse various areas of social policy and its implemention in Finnish society. They know how to explore economic decision-making and evaluate the development of national economy.
