Learning Outcomes

Students will gain experience in supervising groups and in responsibly carrying out projects.They will have command of planning, implementing and evaluating projects in the field of social services where they utilise creative, group and communal approaches. Students will be competent in activating groups and communities, within organisations and between organisations. They will understand the significance of being able to recognise the needs and resources of a participating group. They know how to use their knowledge in initiating activities.

Contents

- Students will prepare an action plan with co-operating bodies, implement it and evaluate the project
- Students will apply community work, group work and creative methods e.g. in client groups, social service units, residential communities or in work communities
- Students will organize activities in project form and implement those activities obeying the course schedule
- The idea paper and the project plan should be presented to the teacher before starting the project
- The project should be documented in a study journal
- After finishing the project, it should be reported and presented as agreed
- The students will take independent care of the networking, the financing etc. as the project requires
- The practical field period can be combined to the thesis
- The practical field period can be carried out abroad
