Student admission

Application to the degree programmes of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences takes place through the joint application system of institutes of higher education, arranged twice a year, in spring and autumn. The joint application process in spring involves two application periods. The first application period, in January, is for English programmes and the second one, in March–April, for Finnish programmes. The joint application process arranged in September is more limited in terms of educational supply than the one taking place in spring. The application form of the joint application system is filled in electronically at www.opintopolku.fi The same form is also used when applying to universities.

Through the joint application system, an applicant may apply to a maximum of six options, which must be prioritised by putting them in an order of preference. In the joint application process, the applicant may obtain one study place at a university of applied sciences or a university. The applicant is offered one study place in the programme they marked as their highest preferred option for which they have a sufficient number of application points.

Eligibility for studies at a university of applied sciences is defined in the Act on Universities of Applied Sciences (932/2014, 25 §). Education or diplomas providing eligibility for a Bachelor’s degree at a university of applied sciences include:
