Learning Outcomes
Students will learn about the basic sensors used in machine automation. They will understand how sensors work, their electrical and mechanical properties and performance characteristics. They will be competent in selecting appropriate sensors for solving problems with detection and measuring. They will be able to make electrical connections for sensors and connect them to control units.
Student's Workload
A total of 80h. 40 hours of classroom training which includes lab exercises. 40 hours of self-study.

Assessment Criteria
Satisfactory (1...2): The student knows and understands to a basic concepts and methods of sensor technology, and is able to choose right sensor type to defined system.
Good (3...4): The student knows and understands to a basic concepts and methods of sensor technology, and is able to choose right sensor type to defined system. The student is able to combine the accumulated knowledge in basic laboratory exercises.
Excellent (5): The student knows and understands to a basic concepts and methods of sensor technology, and is able to choose right sensor type to defined system. The student is able to combine the accumulated knowledge in basic and difficult laboratory exercises.
