Learning Outcomes

CLINICAL COMPETENCE AND DECISION-MAKING COMPETENCE

Students will receive an overview of addictive substances and practices and the underlying factors by exploring people's relationship with intoxicants, addiction and pleasure. They study the development of addiction, the central principles, interventions and treatments in the rehabilitation, and learn to support and help clients of all ages.

COMPETENCE IN CUSTOMERSHIP IN HEALTH CARE AND COMPETENCE IN HEALTH PROMOTION

Students learn to detect addictions in clients and to address the problem. Students will guide, support and assist individual people, groups, families and communities in finding resources for life without intoxicants.

Contents

The course discusses the relationship between addictive substances and people, pleasure, addiction/freedom from addiction, the development of addiction, addictive personality, substances and practices that cause addiction; Ways and levels of using intoxicants; Intervention by addressing the topic; Multiprofessional network of services.
