Learning Outcomes

The purpose of the course is to teach students about the distinctive features of industrial and organisational management and purchasing activities and to provide them with the skills they need to plan and develop a company's purchasing activities in the local and international environments. Students will be knowledgeable of materials processing and the significance of it as part of the production process.

- Sub-contracting and outsourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers
- Purchasing strategies, comparing them and suitability
- Cost-efficiency of purchasing and manufacturing, performance and evaluation
- Simulation of materials processing and examples of companies (case studies)
