Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the concepts associated to the energy and especially bioenergy sector in that extend that they are able to participate public discussions concerning energy. Students know Finnish and European level guidelines regarding energy policy and they have basic views of global energy consumption and its future expectations. Students will be aware of Finnish bioenergy alternatives.

Assessment Criteria
Level 1: Students are familiar with central bioenergy related terms. They will be able to list energy crops important in Finland as well as they can list features of the production system of them.
Level 3: Students will be able to use bioenergy terms professional way. They are accounted for Finish and European bioenergy discussion and aims for the future development in bioenergy sector. Students know the most important bioenergy crops in Finland and will be able to describe shortly the production process and usage of them.
Level 5: Students will be able to describe and argue the importance of bioenergy as a part of the current and future energy policy in Finland and they can use correct term in their occupational discussions. Students will be able to describe and evaluate the production process, logistics and usage of most common bioenergy alternatives in Finland.
