Learning Outcomes

COMPETENCE IN CUSTOMERSHIP IN HEALTH CARE AND ETHICAL COMPETENCE

Students will analyze their personal conceptions and attitudes towards mental health and illness. Students will understand the principles of client and resource-oriented mental health work in multi-professional care and know the importance of clinical work supervision for mental health professions. Students will learn to support, guide and interact with people of all ages in crisis situations.

COMPETENCES IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND DECISION-MAKING COMPETENCE

Students will learn to professionally help people and their families to cope with crises.

CLINICAL COMPETENCE

Students will gain an overview of mental health nursing interventions and of the service delivery system and legislation.

The course comprises the following: Mental health work, mental health nursing, and psychiatric nursing; Health-promoting, preventive, curative and rehabilitative mental health work; Mental Health Act and service delivery system; Care of individuals, groups, families and communities; Care/nursing relationship; Teamwork; Clinical work supervision; Traumatic crises; Principles of crisis intervention; Various crisis interventions
