Learning Outcomes

The student commands the research and development principles needed to acquire advanced expertise in business management. The student is able to search for and critically evaluate the latest information in business. The student can describe the basic principles of research and give examples of utilizing research in business. The student can define the key concepts in both quantitative and qualitative research. The student is able to compare methodological options, to select a method appropriate for the given problem and to give arguments in support of the choices made. The student is capable of planning, carrying out and reporting a small scale research project that produces added value for a firm. The student can assess empirical research. The student can assess his or her ability to conduct research.

Excellent (5)
The student has participated well in lectures, seminars and research project. The student commands very well the research and development principles needed to acquire advanced expertise in business management. The student is able to search for and critically evaluate the latest information in business. The student can describe the basic principles of research and give examples of utilizing research in business. The student is able to compare methodological options on conceptual level and define the key concepts in both quantitative and qualitative research on excellent level. The student is capable of planning, carrying out and reporting a small scale research project that produces added value for a firm. The student´s work as an opponent is collaborative. The student can assess his or her ability to conduct research realistically.

Good (3-4)
The student has participated well in lectures, seminars and research project. The student commands the research and development principles needed to acquire advanced expertise in business management. The student is able to search for and critically evaluate the latest information in business. The student can describe the basic principles of research and give examples of utilizing research in business. The student can define the key concepts in both quantitative and qualitative research on good level. The student can satisfactorily describe the basic principles of research and define the key concepts in both quantitative and qualitative research. The student is capable of planning, carrying out and reporting a small scale study on satisfactory level. The student can satisfactorily assess empirical research as an opponent. The student can somehow assess his or her ability to conduct research.
