Learning Outcomes
Students will understand the role of geriatrics as a speciality in medicine. They will be introduced to the geriatric examination, care and rehabilitation pathway. They will learn to understand the content and implications of a comprehensive geriatric assessment. Students will demonstrate that they are familiar with the most important elements in the examination, care and rehabilitation of common geriatric illnesses and syndromes, including memory disorders. Students will learn to work as members in multi-professional teams in charge of comprehensive geriatric assessment. Students will be able to evaluate their competencies and development needs.

Assessment Criteria
Grade 5:
Students are able to analyse and interpret geriatric illnesses and understand the role of a geriatric knowledge in the treatment of patients. As members of multi-professional teams, they are able to explain the geriatric examination, care and rehabilitation pathway.
Grade 3:
Students are mainly familiar with geriatric illnesses and understand the role of a geriatric knowledge in the treatment of patients. As members of multi-professional teams, they are to some extent able to explain the geriatric examination, care and rehabilitation pathway.
Grade 1:
Students are to a limited degree familiar with geriatric illnesses and understand to some extent the role of a geriatric knowledge in the treatment of patients. As members of multi-professional teams, they are insecure about their competence concerning the geriatric examination, care and rehabilitation pathway.
