Learning Outcomes

Be able to determine the structure of process automation and be able to identify instruments and systems used in process automation, such as control rooms, control instruments and channels in the process industry. Student know the graphic symbols used in process automation and be able to write a simple program code.

•Automation systems and their hierarchical levels ** Adjustment and control circuits ** Control room software ** Stages and instruments in automation projects **Structured program descriptions and program structure; sequence, choice, loop, subroutines calling a simple programming and documentation.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: The student understands how the automation is controlled and monitored. He knows how to make and change the logic program according to the instructions for a simple automation system.
Grade 3: Students are able to produce in addition to the previous small-scale user manuals.
Grade 5: The student is able, addition to the above, to independently change and apply the logic program activities as desired.
