Learning Outcomes
Students will learn about the publication and distribution of various non-fiction and fiction works contained in library collections. Students will understand the various stages involved in work with library collections, from researching the information needs of communities to the methods for assessing collections. They will be competent in applying their knowledge in practice.

Contents
Publication and distribution networks for various materials: books, magazines, journals, CDs and DVDs, electronic publications. Stages in work with collections, especially the means and tools for evaluating collections. Bibliometrics briefly. Organising material for patrons to use.
