The students will:
- know and recognize age-related changes in various areas of functional capacity
- identify health promoting and jeopardizing factors related to aging client's life situation
- know the effects of neurological diseases on aging client's functional capacity
- understand how exercise affects the aging peson's organism
- understand common disorders, traumas and diseases in aged person's bodily systems and know about the effects of the respective medication
- apply a variety of examination methods to assess aging people's functional capacity and independent coping
- know how to plan, implement and evaluate aging client's physiotherapy process
- know what adaptive aids can promote aging people's functional capacity and advise on the choice, availability and use of these aids
- learn to assess universal accessibility of different environments
- gain further knowledge of rehabilitation by studying the multiprofessional rehabilitation process of aging clients and learn to work in rehabilitation teams
- be able to apply welfare technology when counselling aged clients and their families
- learn to conduct and analyse qualitative research and to read scientific articles
