Learning Outcomes
Students will become increasingly interested in the care of elderly people. Upon completion of the course, they will know how to work in a small nursing home, and how to support residents' functional capacity and well-being. Students will learn about the daily life and activities in the home. They will collect and analyse information about the residents' and the working community's well-being and about the factors related to it. Students will form an understanding of the competence and expertise needed in the provision of elderly-care services, and they will learn about the competence requirements for Bachelors of Social Services and Health Care. They will start to construct a conception of internal entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial attitude, required in elderly care.

Contents
- Supporting the well-being and ability to function of elderly people in small nursing home
- Reflecting upon one's experiences: relationship between the individual and environment and between the individual and the community; people's experiences of interaction relationships, the competence required in the work, entrepreneurial approach to work.
- Interviews
- Evaluation of one's learning in relation to the expected learning outcomes and in light of the preceding theoretical studies
- Community diagnosis report, observation report on the entrepreneurial approach to work
