Learning Outcomes
Students learn to explain the concepts preventive and empowering work with the elderly and become aware of the theoretical foundation of anticipatory, preventive and empowering work. Students will be able to name important actors and practices in anticipatory and preventive work with the elderly and give examples of what empowering work can involve.

Assessment Criteria
Grade 5
Students analyse and evaluate the role of preventive and empowering work in supporting older people's social engagement, in strengthening their resources and in prevention of social exclusion. Students know how to plan and develop methods for preventive and empowering work.
Grade 3
Students compare theories, actors and practices in preventive and empowering work and evaluate the suitability of the practices in meeting clients' needs.
Grade 1
Students are able to describe theories, actors and practices in preventive and empowering work with older people.
