Learning Outcomes
Having successfully completed the course, students will be able to name characteristic features of project work and to describe its role in the social service provision system that creates security and welfare. Students will learn to see projects as one method in social work and define the capacities that social work professionals need in project work. Students will be able to identify the stages of projects, from needs assessment to planning, implementation and closing the project. They will be able to name tasks involved in various project stages and explain their meaning for the whole project. They will be also be able to identify and name requirements for a successful project.

Assessment Criteria
Grade 1-2:
Students are able to name characteristic features of project work and to define it as one method of social work. They are able to define the capacities that social work professionals need in project work. Students are able to describe the project lifespan and tasks. They are able to explain why good planning is important for project work. Students are also able to produce a project plan.
Grade 3-4:
Students are able to name characteristic features of project work and its role in social work. They know how to justify the meaning of projects for innovations and development in the social service provision system that creates security and welfare. Students are able to analyse the tasks of project workers and their meaning for the overall project. Students are able to evaluate the project plan contents and the role of good planning for success. They are able to explain how project stages and tasks are connected and how they affect the project existence.
Grade 5:
Students are able to evaluate and justify the role and characteristic features of projects as part of the innovations and development in the social service provision system that creates security and welfare. Students are able to discover, analyse, compare, and justify factors that affect project existence and project work. Students will know how to evaluate challenges to projects and requirements and consequences of successful projects.
Assessment Methods
Classroom activities, group work and exam. Active participation and commitment expected.
