Learning Outcomes

Students will understand the ethical nature of elderly care. They will analyse ethical problems in elderly care in a professional manner from many perspectives. They will learn to explain basic ethical concepts and theories and to act in a responsible manner to promote the rights and good life of elderly people. They will recognize value conflicts and learn to argue for their own opinions. They will learn to evaluate and develop their own ethical dialogue. Starting from the perspective of professional ethics, students will also learn to promote ethical reflection and action in the working community.

- Conceptions of old people and values as a basis for ethical reflection
- Important ethical concepts and theories in elderly care, morality
- Legislation, guidelines and principles in professional ethics
- Morality of the work community
- Development of one's ethical sensitivity and responsibility
- Facing ethical conflicts in elderly care practice, reflection on the problems.
