HEALTH PROMOTION COMPETENCE
Students are familiar with health promotion and public health work strategies and programmes, which are the foudations of their work and understand what their area of responsibility involves and how it is built on knowing the community.
Students are able to apply individual-, family-, community- and population-based approaches and rehabilitative methods. Students know how they can contribute as experts of public health nursing to multiprofessional teams and coordinate the activities of these teams. Students are competent in interaction using the dialogic discussion method and in using client-centred practices . Students are able to apply various health promotion methods in public health nursing with different client groups. Students are able to evaluate, argue for and develop the outcomes and effectiveness of health promotion on the levels of individuals, groups and population.
