Learning Outcomes
Students will practise conceptual thinking and reflect on the interrelationships between concepts. They will learn to analyse central concepts in the health care and social welfare field and to explore their contents within various frameworks. They will also learn what kinds of contents are generally accepted in the health care and social welfare sector.

Contents
Introductory lectures to the analysis of central concepts in health care and social welfare work: conceptions of human nature, welfare, way of life, lifestyle, life management, conceptions of health/illness, health promotion, social problems, social exclusion, social support, the human being/environment, society and community, nursing, work in the social field/social work, trust and social capital.
