Learning Outcomes
Students will
- become familiar with the operational principles of the Finnish health, social and rehabilitation services and with the related legislation, policy programmes and future challenges
- study the rights of patients and the responsibilities of professionals as regulated by Data Protection and Confidentiality legislation
- explore factors that influence the health and functional capacity of the Finnish population and understand the significance of those factors in the planning and provision of health and social services, rehabilitation and physiotherapy
- be aware of the historical development of physiotherapy practice and education
-learn to view patients/clients as equal partners and experts of their own lives and resources
- understand what the concepts of rehabilitation, rehabilitation process and rehabilitative approach to work involve and study the physiotherapist's role in multiprofessional teams
- become familiar with the physiotherapy process and learn the physiotherapy terminology used in documentation
- understand how evidence-based physiotherapy and critical thinking will be the foundation of their professional practice
