Learning Outcomes
The students understand the basics of business English and know the basic vocabulary. They are able to communicate issues related to their studies, work and businesses and can handle daily communication situations. Students can manage situations on the telephone and know how to write work related messages and letters. They can tell about their education and apply for a job in English. They can tell about Finland and welcome guests.
They can tell about the Finnish library system and present the activities and services of a library.

Total work load of the course 78 h out of which 36 h contact lessons, independent work 42 h.

The student uses simple structures and limited vocabulary. Mistakes impede the comprehension. The student understands slow and clear speech and some parts of easy field-related texts.

The student can use the professional vocabulary. He understands the most common field-related texts and performs fairly well in predictable field-related situations.

- The student uses the field-related vocabulary correctly. He understands and produces versatile field-related texts.
